A few years ago, I decided to paint this bathroom storage a darker color. Fast forward a couple of years and I learned it was a bad design decision. I regretted it. I didn’t realize at the time, that it was going to be incredibly hard to see different items inside the cabinet. As a result, the organization became out of control. I decided I had to repaint the bathroom storage cabinet and use clear containers for ultimate bathroom organization.
Repainted Bathroom Storage Cabinet
At the time I thought a dark paint color was going to be a fun way to add contrast to the space. As I mentioned above… oh boy, was I wrong. I decided to repaint the cabinet in my favorite neutral color by Behr paint called Gravelstone.
I also added new hardware that is absolutely gorgeous! It really brightened up the space and elevated the look of my tiny hallway.
I also love the way the paint complements the gold in the hardware and flush mount starlight.
Bathroom Clear Storage Containers
When starting to re-organize this area, I really wanted to use clear containers for several reasons. One is if I don’t see the products I won’t use them. Going through my items I found there were things I would love to use but I don’t simply because I forgot I had them.
All of the clear containers for this bathroom organization are from the new Home Edit line at Walmart. I can’t believe the pricing on these clear containers. Already.
- Lazy Susan
- Clear Pantry Storage System 5 Piece
- Large Bin, 10″ x 10″ x 6″
- Large Drawer, Clear Plastic Storage Bin
- Narrow Bin 1 Piece Clear
My go-to organizing friend, Lela, explains that when you order containers online, you should always look for containers that are 2 inches smaller than your actual shelving. Typical measurements don’t include extra inches like handles or grips.
Clear Containers that are Stackable
Using organizers that are stackable is a great way to fit a lot of items on shelves. But, go with this rule of thumb… items that you use quarterly or yearly should be stored on the bottom and items you use daily or monthly are stored on top. That way you’re not having to maneuver around all the clear containers for bathroom organization.
Prioritize Everyday Items Bathroom Storage
An extra tip is to place your everyday items on a Lazy Susan or a three-tier organizer. Having these items displayed makes them easily accessible and is a great way to keep things organized.
