Today I am excited to share with you our project, Bathroom Vanity Makeover with Cane Webbing, for week 7 on the One Room Challenge Spring 2020. The One Room challenge™ provides participants with a supportive, enthusiastic forum in which to share the process of transforming a room. The ORC is not a competition, but rather a celebration of creativity, inspiration, and original ideas. I will be sharing our bathroom remodel for this challenge. You can find all the rooms and designers participating in the ORC HERE. You can also follow along on Instagram HERE. That’s where I will be sharing live videos and pictures.
Before Bathroom Vanity
This Bathroom Vanity Makeover with Cane Webbing was such a fun and easy project. The vanity was already here when we moved into our home. It was in pretty rough shape but I thought I could work a little magic and give it a perfect makeover and still stay in budget.
Makeover
PRIMER | BLACK PAINT | GOLD PLATE | LEATHER PULLS | FLOOR (SIMILAR)
First I have to clean up the old vanity. The previous owners did a wild job on the caulking so I had to scrape all the old caulk off and sand it down. I then primed it with THIS primer and painted the entire vanity with THIS black paint.
Cane Webbing
We cut the cane webbing to fit right inside the two vanity panels. Cutting cane webbing is pretty easy and straight forward. I decided spray painting the cane would be the easiest route so I used THIS spray paint. I used a staple gun to attach the cane to the vanity. We stapled along the edges and painted over the staples with extra paint. You cant see them at all! With a hot glue gun, we glued THESE spray painted wooden dowels along the edge. This gave the cane webbing a more finished look.
Leather Pulls
I really wanted a modern sleek look so we went with THESE dark leather pulls. I love the touch of gold. The black on black gives all the right feels to this bathroom upgrade. I am so happy with this Bathroom Vanity Makeover with Cane Webbing project. You can read more about my bathroom update HERE or follow me on Instagram HERE.
