Bear Lake Family Trip Recommendations
For the last several years my family and I have visited Bear Lake in the Idaho and Utah region. Bear Lake sits right on the Idaho and Utah border and stretches over 7 miles long! We’ve loved being able to create memories here during the summers and we have found all the perfect must do’s while staying in Bear Lake in Idaho and Utah. Bear Lake is a perfect place to gather for a family reunion or any family vacation! We also threw my sister a baby shower while we were home in Idaho!
Bear Lake Housing Rentals
There are so many places to stay while visiting Bear Lake, we decided to stay in a house we found on Airbnb. The beautiful 30 person home was located in a gated neighborhood called The Reserve. The reserves have great amenities such as a clubhouse with a pool, hot tub, and private beach access! We love staying in this neighborhood and plan to come back.
Things-To-Do in Bear Lake Idaho and Utah
There are so many things to do while you’re in Bear Lake and we decided to try out a variety of different activities while there.
Beach
Of course, you have to go to the beach and see the water. Bear Lake is known for being the Caribbean of the west! The mineral water is crystal clear blue and so beautiful with the view of the mountains. There are lots of rental companies to rent JetSki‘s or boats. Or you can find a nice spot on the beach with your family and enjoy some pool floaties!
This year we grabbed a couple of tents and camped out on the side of the beach on the Idaho side. The Idaho side has more sand and fewer rocks than the Utah side.
Tube Slide
If you’ve had enough of the water you need to check out the outdoor ropes course center. They have so many things to do here including a giant slide! It was so fun going down the slide with all my nieces and nephews and even by myself. The view of the lake is gorgeous and there were lots of different activities to do here.
Horse Back Riding
While we were in Bear Lake we also went horseback riding. This is a perfect family activity and it was so much fun! The trails in the mountains are an experience of a lifetime especially if you don’t live near them.
Go Carts
A fun evening activity is going to the go-carts! They have plenty of go-carts for big families and it’s a fun evening activity when the sun is setting behind the mountains. The go-carts are fun for any age range they also have go-carts that fit tiny toddlers with their parents!
Places to Eat In Bear Lake Idaho and Utah
There are lots of places to eat in Bear Lake and we found our favorites.
Labeau’s One is not to be confused with Labeau’s Two. This staple Bear Lake quick restaurant serves burgers french fries and any quick diner options. Make sure to get a famous raspberry shake!
Little Bear Pizza is perfect for any big family! They have the biggest pizza you could imagine!
Café Sabor is a delicious sit-down Mexican restaurant. We love the spinach artichoke dip and the salsa.
Lastly, we went to Campfire Grill which is a nice outdoor restaurant with a beautiful view. Outside the restaurant, they have tons of outdoor Old fashion games to play!
