Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have been eating this chocolate chip cookie recipe for as long as I can remember! This is my mother’s recipe and it’s been a fan favorite for years These chocolate chip cookies are so chewy and delicious. They whip up real quick and will make your house smell. Amazing.

I made this recipe often and if I’m lucky, I’ll be able to bake a couple of cookies. Carter loves this cookie dough recipe. The texture of the dough is like Play-Doh and tastes like everything a chocolate chip cookie should be!

The reason why these chocolate chip cookies are perfectly chewy is because this recipe calls for bread flour. Bread, flour has more gluten and is heavier making the cookies, more dense, and chewy!

We use vanilla powder, but if you don’t have vanilla powder, just using regular vanilla works too.

In our house, there is a debate on milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet… Carter loves milk chocolate and I opt for semi-sweet. Next time I should try a little bit of both! Either way, you can’t go wrong with

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks salted butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  • Add butter, sugar, and brown sugar to a large bowl or mixer. Mix until fluffy. About 2-4 minutes.
  • Add eggs, salt, vanilla, baking soda. Mix until even. About 30 seconds.
  • Add bread flour and mix. Don’t over mix.
  • Add chocolate chips and mix.
  • Use a spoon to scoop golf ball sized dough. I don’t roll mine because I like the rough, homemade look.
  • Bake in oven at 375 for 12-14 min or tops are light brown.
