Cozy Eclectic Kitchen Decor
When we first moved in I knew the kitchen was going to be one of the first projects we did. I love cooking and I often spend time in my kitchen working and creating nutritious meals for our family. When I was deciding on all the details of the remodel I kept thinking, “Cozy Eclectic Kitchen.” Well after three years of small and big projects, I feel like I’ve made it just that!
Our kitchen before the remodel was lots and lots of weird green/grey tile… every where! On the floor, on the backsplash and on the counter! They sure loved that tile. Well we ripped everything out, kept the old original cabinets for their charm and started fresh.

Counters and Sink
We really wanted to makeover to be both beautiful and budget-friendly so I opted for butcher block. I LOVE them. We got our butcher block and farmhouse sink from IKEA and are so happy. Carter and I installed them ourselves. It was really easy and totally adds to our cozy eclectic kitchen vibes.
Modern Eclectic Kitchen
This small kitchen didn’t allow for a layout transition so we had to stick with what we had. I hated how the oven looked as if it was just floating in the air in the before picture.
To fix this, we added the backsplash all along the back of the oven and built a wood feature wall above it with a little shelf! Now, this kitchen looks more cohesive and the cozy eclectic we were trying to achieve.
Floral Wallpaper and Window Seat
Before this area was nothing! The listing actually used these plastic chairs when we saw it for the first time.
Kitchen Wallpaper
I knew I wanted this space to scream bright and fun! We built a window seat and wallpapered the back wall with floral wallpaper. The window seat added so much more space in this small cozy eclectic kitchen! This is important, we are always thinking of ways on how we can maximize space!
It’s crazy to think that we made almost everything in this area! We built the table base and thrifted the top, made the light from a rattan basket, and hung up those floating shelves from Ultra Shelves. The chairs I thrifted online and recovered myself! I also sewed the black french cushion mattresses! Needless to say, this didn’t happen overnight, but it happened and we did it all ourselves which is something to be really proud of.
Storage in Our Cozy Eclectic Kitchen
Storage is a MUST in our tiny bungalow. We still don’t have it all figured out yet, but we are one step closer with this kitchen. We added a tall glass kitchen cabinet with sliding doors. The sliding doors are huge for a space saver! I can stand in front of the cabinet and get everything I need without having to move around furniture.
We also have two other pieces of storage furniture in this cozy kitchen. One is a metal pink utility cart. This is where I keep fun decor and store essential kitchen items like dish towels and extra serving bowls. It rolls which makes it super easy to clean behind! Our other storage piece is a skinny bamboo dresser I thrifted. I painted it black and it’s so cute here! And it holds a lot of stuff! I love that I have room for another plant!
Details Cozy Eclectic Kitchen
Of course, we had to use our favorite pull-down cordless bamboo shades above our sink. Adding plants and other home decor items with texture really makes the kitchen extra cozy. I also always have a diffuser going in the kitchen I found this perfect candle lantern for my diffuser. This Young Living diffuser has a candle flickering setting which is an extra fun glow!
