Fall Moody Interiors, Twinkling Lights and the BEST Autumn Cookies

Fall is an easy season to love. The feeling of the air getting a little cooler, the leaves changing, and all the new fall flavored items are just something to get giddy about. I wanted all the fall moods in my house, so this week I switched up a few things in my kitchen to make that happen.

WOOD SERVING BOARD | LIGHT | WATERING CAN | FAUCET | VASES | CERAMIC PLANTER | SIMILAR COFFEE CAN | SMALLER WHITE PLANTER | BIGGER WHITE PLANTER | SOAP DISPENSER | TROLLEY | PAPER TOWEL HOLDER | SIMILAR RUG | KITCHEN AID | GOLD KNOBS

Watering can and moody rug.

On the counter I swapped out a few of my plants for darker leaf plants and added a couple of brassy touches like this watering can. Living in a small home it is important to me to find items that serve a dual purpose for décor and daily use. This watering can from target is exactly what I needed. I added a dark rug which you can find a similar one from target here.

Simple bowl of apples, thanks Chris Loves Julia!

A big thanks to Chris Loves Julia for helping me add an easy fall décor idea to my house. Earlier this week on Instagram, Julia talked about how she loves using fruits as décor and added a bowl full of apples. Simple, yet how gorgeous! You can view their post here.  This simple bowl of apples really helps set the fall mood in here. I also added an apple flavored candle on the counter to add a little scent to go along with the bowl of apples.

BOWL

Using nature as home decor and dark pillows in the breakfast nook.

Over at the breakfast nook I took out the white pillows and exchanged them for black ones. Easy but effective way to changed things up. Pulling more of those dark colors in really helps change the overall feel of the room. I love using nature as décor so I added a couple of small pumpkins and this Pilea plant is so funky it has a perfect Halloween vibe!

Twinkling lights are the GLOW UP in the fall decor.

I was mostly excited about adding these twinkling lights. Adding twinkling lights is the perfect mood shifter! I like to add mine on plants, bowls or just about anything. They are battery powered and come with a remote which makes turning them on so easy. Find them here on amazon. I saw these from blogger Nesting With Grace and I am so glad I did. Read more about her experience with them here. They also have different settings which are fun to play with and give off a perfect warm glow.

It feels so good to switch things up in my kitchen. Every time I walk in I smile because I’m like, “Awe! This is so cute.” I think it is important to add little joys like this in your life because it is easy to let life become mundane. So, make yourself happier and add some easy fall touches to your home.

Autumn Apple Cookies

These cookies have been a house-hold favorite for the past five years and they even are made with whole wheat flour! I came across this recipe from my college roommate, Mikyla, who got it from a friend’s sister who probably got it form someone else! (If I remember the story right…) Needless to say, this recipe has been passed around plenty of times and after you make them you’ll understand why they are so loved. A couple of these cookies, a soft throw and a holiday themed movie will toss you right into all the fall vibes you’re looking for!
