What do you think? Do lamps belong in the kitchen? That’s an easy one for me, I say absolutely yes! Wow, this topic (kitchen lamps) was heavily debated on Instagram stories. I find lamps to be so cozy and perfect ambient lighting. Having a lamp in the kitchen is the way to go for your early morning drinks and late evenings!

Kitchen Counter Lamp Ideas
The main debate on whether or not to use a kitchen lamp was, “save counter space!” Even in my small kitchen, I opted for a medium-sized lamp. This ceramic flower lamp gives me total Anthropologie vibes for a Walmart price! For my lifestyle and day-to-day tasks, this worked perfectly for me! If you want a lamp but you don’t want to take up too much counter space, try finding something smaller and you won’t regret it!
Small Kitchen Counters
Some people voiced that they don’t like anything on their counters at all! Living in a home under 700 ft.², that’s not an option for me! That’s why I tried to use functional decor like this beautiful modern green toaster and copper vase for my essential oil diffuser. I love the way these colors look next to each other on my butcher block countertops.
Plants and Decor
Of course, I love to have a little greenery on my counters along with some fun art. This plant is a snake plant! Super easy to care for. The bamboo gold frame against the dark green paint colors looks so rich and beautiful against the white subway tile. I found this small peace sign ceramic which is perfect for my rings while I do dishes.
Butcher Block Counters
Marble cutting boards are the perfect way to group together items on your counter. For me it makes the items feel more intentional and less cluttered. I put things like this cotton rope soap dispenser and my all-natural cleaning spray next to the sink. This bamboo cleaning brush is perfect for hand washing dishes.
I love having a cozy eclectic feel in my space, so I try to implement several different styles that will create one cohesive look. I always try to add something natural like my favorite bamboo shades. I like to combine multiple materials like using a wood tray, marble, and metal. And then I try to throw a few vintage aspects like a vintage-inspired washable rug.
A Touch of Black
Always try to add something black in my spaces. Even if it’s small like a white and black dishrag with stripes. I love the idea of combining metals, so my kitchen faucet is beautiful stainless steel and the wall sconce above my sink is brass. Don’t be afraid to jump out of your comfort zone and just try things! Who knows, maybe you’ll love a kitchen lamp!
