If you are new here, welcome to our first big reveal in our master bedroom makeover. You guessed it, we started with paint. When Carter and I moved into this house the entire home was painted a gray color. During the day the gray was OK. However, when the natural light would disappear some crazy colors would come out of these gray walls. I’m talking orange and purples! now that I’m saying goodbye to the gray walls what am I saying hello to? There’s more thought that goes into painting the master bedroom than you think so here’s to our master bedroom paint reveal!
Before Pictures and Design Board
When planning our master bedroom makeover I first started with a design board. If you’ve never made a design board you can check out my blog post on that HERE. This is the design board that I came up with for our master bedroom.
GREEN PILLOW | YELLOW PILLOW | FAN | LIGHT | DRESSER | RUG | MIRROR | BED FRAME | CABINET | BASKET | CHAIR | NEW PAINT COLOR | TRIM
The final reveal will look very similar to this design board, however, there were a few items that I wasn’t able to get so I opted so a different choice that I am extremely happy about.
Walls Trim and Door
I knew I wanted the walls to be a warm white and the trim to have a little color to it. After making my design board I looked up a few different warm white paints and added them to my design board. I wanted to find one that was going to work with the entire room.
Down below are some links of look-a-likes from the room!

How We Sample
I then decided to head to Home Depot to get a few swatches. I switched swatches around (say that ten times fast) over and over again until I found what I thought was going to be perfect. So with the wall trim and door color in hand, I went back home to put the samples on the wall.
When sampling paint colors it’s very important that you sample on all the walls in the room. Each wall will have a different amount of natural light bringing out different colors.
After putting all the wall colors in the room I decided I was happy with the colors and was ready to paint.
Walls
We started with the walls in a beautiful warm white from Behr paint. We call Palais White. You can find it HERE. We did have to do two coats. I always recommend your first coping pretty thin and allowing it to dry completely before doing your second coat. You’ll be impatient, but in the long run, you’ll be happier with the end result.
Trim
We then decided to paint the trim and closet doors in a pretty greige color. You can find the color Ginger Sugar Here. This natural color is definitely one of my favorites! It is so calming and just gorgeous.
Door
We finished off the painting project by finishing the door. We added molding and paint for a more glamorous feel. You can find the blog post HERE with all the details. We used THIS color for the door.
Painting the master bedroom already has made this room feel so much bigger and brighter! If the painting was all we had planned to do we are 100% happier with the space already!
