When I found this barrister’s bookcase on the Facebook marketplace it was listed for only $65! I was really hoping it would be real wood and I would be able to sand it down however when I picked it up I realized that I was going to have to paint it. I’m glad that’s how the story ended because this bookcase turned out beautiful in our Florida room!

Glassdoor Bookcase
I love having a glass door bookcase because it keeps everything displayed but also dust-free! I use the pink bin to store all of my doggy leashes and then I added a couple more decor items and baskets for storage. I think my favorite has to be the ceramic peace sign and gold watering can!
Start with Sanding and a Primer
I first started by giving the bookcase a light sand and a good coat of primer! The doors came off easy so I did the same. Although it’s tempting to skip this step, priming is so important! Primer adheres better than regular paint so it will help with the scuffs and scratches! I love having an extra piece of furniture to store more of our items.
Bright Green Painted Bookcase
When searching for a paint color I was inspired by a recent purchase of an athletic sports bra. It was bright avocado green and the color just drew me in! So I search for the perfect green and landed on the color Garnish by Behr at Home Depot. I used trim and cabThis barrister bookcase all painted turned out perfect! It goes perfectly with the other flipped furniture I have done in my home!
