Apartment Makeover – Rental Friendly Bedroom

This apartment makeover was a first for me! My brother and his wife moved to the area a few months ago and it was only a matter of time before I begged them to let me makeover a room in their apartment! (Begged is an exaggeration. I was thrilled to do it and they were very gracious to let me!)

Before and After Apartment Makeover

Since they only moved to the area recently, they didn’t have much in their bedroom. My sister-in-law thrifted a couple of cute vintage nightstands and a dresser. These items worked perfectly and matched with the rest of the decor we chose together.

Rental Friendly Decor

I wanted this apartment makeover to look modern, coastal, and eclectic. Many spaces in my home have these style elements, so it shouldn’t surprise you that I brought them with me to their home! I loved the rattan headboard. The rattan material fits the coastal theme while the shape of the headboard keeps it looking modern and not beachy.

Apartment Decor Makeover

I loved this fun floral bedding. My sister-in-law asked if I could make the room look more bright and happy. I thought this duvet did the trick! I paired it with a velvet quilt, shams, and two adorable yellow embroidered pillows. These throw pillows give the bedding a much-needed vintage/eclectic feel.

I already owned this colorful pink rug. I love being able to repurpose home decor and I thought it brought a fun element to the space!

It’s common in Florida for apartments to have no overhead lighting. Both my brother and his wife requested at least three sources of light! The pink wall sconces are perfect for this apartment makeover. They can either be hardwired or plugged in making them the perfect renter-friendly choice.

Art for an Apartment

Of course, I used art from my favorite Artist Kamdon’s Kreations. You can use my discount code BLUSHINGBUGNALOW for 15% off site wide! Kamdon and I created an art collection together and still to this day it has been one of my favorite projects.

Decorating an Apartment on a Budget

If you watched my stories on Instagram you saw the mishap I had with the original curtains! I ended up finding new curtains that worked with the other patterns in this apartment makeover. I think the stripes are cute!

Something every bedroom needs is a chair! Otherwise, where are you going to throw the outfits you never wear. 😉 This chair is adorable and under $200!

This apartment makeover was so fun and my brother and his wife loved the end result!
