We are back at Jacob and Elyse‘s house to do another fun project! When I was redoing their primary bedroom a few weeks ago, I kept going in and out of the front door. I couldn’t help myself and started to make plans for a makeover becasue this space that had so much potential! My first thought was I needed to add some fun color to the door and add a touch of character with painted striped stairs.

Painted Front Door
Choosing a paint color for the front door was easy because Elyse and Jacob already knew what color they were looking for. They opted for a beautiful green-blue color that really brings a calm and cozy feel to the space. I also added an adorable lion door knocker. I love the idea of adding a vintage-inspired piece.
Paint Front Door Ideas
When it comes to painting front doors, there are so many options! How do you decide on a color? Really go for something that is going to make you smile every time you walk up. Whether it’s a purple front door like mine or something more neutral like black, it doesn’t matter as long as you love it!
How to Paint Stairs Outside
We decided to paint the stairs with concrete paint and add a fun striped pattern on top. We used pure white concrete paint on the stairs and the ceiling! Then we use colored concrete paint for the stripes in the color gravelstone at Home Depot. I recommend power washing the concrete before, adding any type of paint to make sure it adheres correctly.
Painted striped stairs are the perfect way to add a little fun to your front porch. They are low maintenance and the extra detail goes a long way!
Painting Outdoor Concrete Stairs
I love how the extra details on the front porch really pull together a completely collected look. From the star flush mount to the layered doormats. I love the bottom doormat has some green to pull the door in as well! And, of course, no front porch is complete without some greenery, and since it’s almost October, we threw out a couple of pumpkins!
