Halloween Ideas for a Small Front Porch

I looked all over Pinterest for ideas for a Halloween small front porch and not a lot of relatable options surfaced. When I say I have a small front porch… it’s about the width of the door plus a little sum! So it’s a “real” small front porch. I decided since I couldn’t find the inspiration, I’d make it! I love the way our small front porch is now decorated for Halloween! Plus, I did use a few tricks up my sleeve to make our front porch up here a little bigger!

How do you make a small porch look good?

Our front porch felt really unbalanced because of the large plant to the right of the door. The door doesn’t sit in the center of the pavement plus the larger plant to the right it made that side look heavier than the other side to the left.

I decided to place some mums around the plant to make that area look a little more full and then replicate that same design on the other side of the concrete. Now that I have two focal points on each side of the concrete, it really makes my small front porch look bigger than it actually is!

Front Porch Halloween Decorations

Since I live in such a small home, I opt for using a lot of real plants and pumpkins for decorations during Halloween. I don’t want to buy too many things that I have to store so I enjoyed the fresh items for as long as the season will let me!

Halloween Wreath

I did make this fun, pumpkin and pinecone wreath as a little DIY! I found a eucalyptus wreath, and then attached pinecones and Styrofoam pumpkins + gourds to the front. It turned out so cute and will look perfect all the way through Thanksgiving!

Spooky but Cute

I also can’t get over this adorable, skeleton, named Ricky! His name comes from his bones, which are very rickety! I can’t wait to take our Halloween costume pictures next to him this year!

I picked him up at HomeGoods in August and I am so glad I did! Then I decided to put a cute mum in his big bowl until I replace it with Halloween candy for trick-or-treaters on Halloween.

Small Front Porch Ideas

When it comes to your small front porch, it’s really about adding the fun, charming character with a brightly painted door and layered mats for an extra cozy feel.

Overall, I’m so excited about how my small front porch turned out for Halloween. I hope that I give you inspiration for the future!
