There is no question that Christmas is my favorite holiday. The lights, the music, the all-around cheerfulness is something that we are blessed to experience every year. I also love Christmas time because it brings families closer together, through traditions and holiday activities. It was a lot of fun for Carter and me to put up our Christmas Garland, tree and other holiday décor in our Bungalow this year. Carter and I definitely had to work together, because we did have a few mishaps. But, it happens and that’s what creating memories is about.

Christmas Tree in a Basket
I love putting my Christmas trees in a basket. It gives your tree a unique and cozy look. This pencil tree is from Michaels and you can purchase it HERE. I place a few bricks at the bottom of the basket and then tightly stack styrofoam in the basket and shove my tree right into the styrofoam. You can buy styrofoam at any craft store. Your tree won’t tip over because of the weight of the bricks and the Styrofoam keeps your tree from leaning or wobbling. I then added the ribbon. I had so many questions on how I do ribbon, so I created a video on Instagram. You can watch it HERE and it is saved under the highlight named “Christmas” on my profile.
Then I add all the “stuffers.” This is anything to make your tree look fuller. I used flowers, pom poms, and faux magnolia leaves. This step is really helpful if your tree is bare. I got my fillers at Joann’s but you can find them at any craft store.
Last, I add ornaments and stuff the top the basket with gold fabric to hide the Styrofoam. Last year I used Christmas fabric, you can see last year’s Christmas post HERE. This fur throw adds a winter touch and you can find it HERE from Target.
Breakfast Nook Christmas Décor
Adding Christmas décor to our breakfast nook is so easy and keeps it festive in here. I swapped out our fall pillows for THESE Christmas pillows from Woven Nook. If you haven’t purchased any of their pillows yet, you should! They are adorable and high quality.
I added THIS popcorn and cranberry garland to our window. This has to be one of my favorite festive items I found. I also added a seagrass basket full of red paper flowers.
Repeating Holiday Décor
Repeating Holiday Décor through your house is a great way to pull your decorations together. I repeated THIS wreath several times in my house. Once above our IKEA Shoe HACK. (If you haven’t read this post yet, you can find it HERE.) And the other wreath this on the back door in the kitchen. When shopping for new Christmas Décor, buy multiples and place them throughout your home. This will help bring your décor together room by room. This Christmas In the South book was gifted to me a few years ago and you can find it HERE. Adding fresh, winter, greenery throughout your home will keep it smelling wonderful.
Kitchen Holiday Garland
I started our Kitchen Garland by using THIS faux garland. Then I added fresh eucalyptus, branches, and other greenery, I found the fresh greenery from Trader Joe’s. We used THESE command strips to secure it to the tile.
I bought the dried oranges, but you can easily make your own. I recommend drying the oranges and then using hot glue to attach them to sticks. They will easily attach to your garland that way. I bought my oranges at Joann’s Fabric store. They don’t have available online so check your stores!
I picked up a handful of Christmas hand towels at Joann’s as well. You can find them HERE.
I finished the Garland with THESE twinkling lights. Can I just say, I am in love with how it turned out? Putting up the Christmas Garland, tree and other holiday décor in our Bungalow this year really put us in the Christmas Spirit.
