I can’t believe I started this project almost 2 years ago. What I thought would be an easy, fun project… Turned into a long, slow process due to wrong deliveries and other things we didn’t anticipate. I’m so excited and happy to share with you my small laundry room with a folding table! It turned out better than I could imagine, and this room fits perfectly in our small bungalow!

Small Laundry Room Makeover
When I first started this laundry room makeover, we had to get really creative with the small space. Originally there was a large hot water tank that took up a bunch of room right when you walked in. We installed a tankless water heater behind the washer and dryer, which allows so much more room! Plus, I love having endless hot water!
Small Laundry Room Ideas
We wanted to make the laundry room, extra cozy so we added a simple ceiling feature with tongue and groove. This really gives the room a more bungalow/cottage feel. We painted the whole room in the color Swiss Coffee from Home Depot.
Laundry Room Shelf
I built this marble shelf with a piece of wood and leftover marble scraps from a flooring store. Without the brackets, the total shelf cost me five dollars to make! I added the gold brackets and a black rail below so we can hang a few things. I hung my Hunter boots and I think it’s an adorable touch.
Also easy for me to grab heading out the back door!
Custom Folding Table
With the folding table, I found two hand-carved wood wall hangings. I had this idea to turn them into a folding table in our small laundry room. This turned out better than I pictured!
I was inspired by a piece of furniture at Anthropologie and couldn’t stop thinking about making a custom folding table for this room. I painted the folding table a beautiful blue color called Rainy Days from the Magnolia Collection.
The top of the folding table is a butcher block material. I didn’t stain it, however, I did apply oil and conditioner to the wood to make sure it stays looking fresh.
Table for Folding Laundry
I absolutely love how the table for the small laundry room turned out. It’s really a statement piece! I also painted the door leading to our backyard my favorite neutral paint color, Gravelstone.
Last minute, I painted the baseboards to match and I absolutely love the additional detail.
Overall, this was a really fun project and I’m happy to have it done. Our new small laundry room looks adorable next to our colorful laundry room closet and I can’t wait to give you a live tour on Instagram!
