This year I am hosting Christmas for the first time ever so I wanted to create a really fun nostalgic, feel in our home. I really focused on vintage-inspired Christmas decor throughout our small bungalow, which meant using fun, colored lights and some tinsel.
Retro Christmas Tree
I have always loved decorating Christmas trees. Growing up it was something I look forward to doing with my mom every year! My mother is a very good Christmas tree decorator. For the vintage-inspired Christmas tree, I used big colored ornaments, white and colored lights, tinsel, and velvet ribbon.

Christmas Lights
Combining white and colored lights on your Christmas tree is a great way to decorate. The white lights keep it bright and sparkly. Well, the colored lights add a little bit of fun!
Tinsel
This is my first year using tinsel on my Christmas tree, and I absolutely loved it! I was a little intimidated, but putting tinsel up is so easy! I really love how it makes the Christmas tree look really fun and sparkly.
One of my favorite things to do is put my Christmas tree in a basket. I think it looks so cute!
Christmas Ornaments
For the Christmas ornaments are used more modern colored bulb ornaments. I think this really gave the Christmas tree a modern touch!
Vintage Inspired Christmas Decorations Ideas
Vintage inspired to me means playing with color. Are used colored lights and mini-colored bulbs on the swing in our Florida room and this made it feel totally nostalgic.

Colored Christmas Lights
Another idea to add different types of Christmas lights is using big and small bulbs. On our Christmas garland in our kitchen, I use big colored Christmas bulbs, and they turned out so cute!
Vintage Inspired Popcorn Garland
Nothing says vintage-inspired Christmas like popcorn and cranberry garland. I picked this up several years ago at a craft store and I think it looks adorable paired with the disco ball Garland.
Pine Garland with Bows
I decided to use velvet bows all throughout my house, and I absolutely love the extra touch! Adding a little bit of color and texture with ribbon really cold this vintage inspires Christmas together.
