It’s so exciting to say that I finally have a living room worth living in! This small living room makeover turned this space from a seating area to an entertainment space. Who would’ve ever thought I could fit a sectional in this tiny living room of mine!
WOVEN OTTOMAN | MIRROR | STOOL | CIRCLE PILLOW | FAN | SHADES | SALT LAMP | JUTE UDER RUG | RUG | TEDDY PILLOW | PINK PILLOW | WALLPAPER | ADJUSTABLE LIGHT | RATTAN CHAIR | PLAID OTTOMANS | TV CONSOLE | FRAME TV | BLACK TABLE
Before this makeover, our living room was not very functional. We had a small loveseat and two small chairs. I knew I could do better with this room and so I got to work and redesigned the whole space!
Comfortable Black Sofa
Who was surprised I went with the color black? I was!! When searching for inspiration on Pinterest I was looking for a really dark sofa that still screamed cozy. I really couldn’t find anything so I decided to go with my gut and do it anyways. I’m so excited about the color of the sofa. It’s true dark charcoal/black and it’s cozy as all get out! You can read all details regarding the process of selecting the sectional here.
When they delivered my sofa, the delivery guys were shocked by the color and told me they have never seen this color of furniture before. They said they really liked it! The pillows are custom and came with the sofa!
Small Living Room Ideas
I wanted to keep an eclectic look throughout the living room so I added a hanging plant, eclectic custom art, and a cute wall sconce. (I spray painted it black!) We also built the large picture ledge above our couch!
Living Room Decor
I love the modern fan I chose. The flush mount is a perfect choice for a smaller space so the ceiling fan is not hanging too low.
The rug I decided to go with is a beautiful terra-cotta rug. I love the vibrant colors against the dark sectional, it really feels cozy in the space. Layered under, is a natural jute rug that fills the room.
The wicker coffee table doubles as storage for blankets and extra pillows. It also adds a nice texture to the room!
Of course, I have plenty of plants and I still love the bird wallpaper I added a few months ago.
When decorating a small room it’s important to think of the tiny details. That’s why I opted for small drink tables and side tables. I love the skinny tall black tables and of course, the natural wood table is perfect for drinks.
Window Treatments
I added my favorite bamboo shades. The shades are light filtering so we have blackout roller shades behind them because these windows are at the front of our house.
We built a DIY peg beadboard wall a few years ago and this is where we love hanging up our everyday items up.
This cute black rattan chair fits perfectly in a little space and offers additional seating for when we have larger groups over.
Small Living Room with TV
Hanging a TV in a small space can be difficult plus an eyesore. We mounted a Frame TV a few months ago and I love how it can display beautiful art like a picture frame.
The TV console has a lot of fun texture and the warm wood color brings the perfect amount of balance to the room. I also love that I can store ottomans underneath for extra space to walk around.
Lastly the paint colors in this room… The walls are Alabaster White from Sherwin-Williams and my favorite greige color from our french doors is Gravestone by Berh.
