I’m so excited to share a bedroom makeover I did for my good friend Kelly. She had no idea what I was planning, and the big reveal was just priceless! Inspired by the classy and traditional style of the show “Bridgerton,” I decided to go with a lovely palette of blues and added touches of velvet and ribbon to really make the space pop. I can’t wait to show you all how it turned out and dive into the details of this transformation.

Lately, I’ve been really diving into expanding my design range. Everyone has their own unique personality and style preferences, and I’m all about creating spaces that truly reflect that! Just before this dreamy Bridgerton-inspired bedroom, I tackled a modern kitchen makeover, which was a whole different vibe. It’s been so much fun mixing it up and trying out new design styles. I love dipping my toes into these new design waters!
What is the Bridgerton Aesthetic called?
The Bridgerton aesthetic, often associated with Regency style, originates from the early 19th century Regency era in England. This era was celebrated for its elegance, attention to detail, romance, and sophistication. During the design process for Kelly’s bedroom, I made sure to include these elements, consistently keeping them in focus.
How to Create a Bridgerton Inspired Bedroom?
- Color Palette: Soft pastel tones such as light blue, pale pink, ivory, and mint green are used frequently.
- Luxurious Fabrics: Silk, velvet, and damask are frequently used for draperies, upholstery, and bedding.
- Classic Furniture: Defined by lines, carvings, and refined details, this style of furniture includes pieces like upholstered chairs with scrolled arms, delicate side tables, and elegant canopy or upholstered beds.
- Ornate Details: Intricate moldings, decorative cornices, and elegant chandeliers bring elegance to a room.
- Art and Decor: Incorporate framed portraits, classical sculptures, and decorative mirrors to add depth and interest. Accessories like porcelain vases, candlesticks, and ornamental boxes would be perfect, as well.
- Wall Treatments: Embrace traditional Regency patterns such as florals or damasks for a timeless look.
- Symmetry and Balance: Furniture arrangements and decor placements often feature symmetry and balance, such as arranging furniture in pairs or using symmetrical layouts.

Bridgerton Mood Board
Before diving into any project, I love to immerse myself in research to gather inspiration. For this one, watching the show, browsing Pinterest, and exploring more about the Regency era proved invaluable. I begin by selecting colors, patterns, furniture, and fabrics that catch my eye. This stage should be enjoyable—save anything you like without worrying about matching. When you start assembling your mood board, feel free to swap items in and out to see what really resonates with you.
For this room, I crafted a mood board inspired by Kelly, incorporating elements from my research and adding a unique Blushing Bungalow twist.
Personalizing Your Space
One major request was to close off her closet, a change she had wanted for a long time. The house originally didn’t have closet doors, so adding them really helped pull the room together. We’ve put together a detailed tutorial on how we crafted doors for her awkwardly-sized closet. I’m thrilled with the decision to close it off; now the clothes no longer detract from the room’s overall aesthetic.

We didn’t want this space to feel foreign to Kelly, so we incorporated things that are very her. She LOVES dogs and I don’t blame her. We added a cute print that matched the Bridgerton aesthetic but still made the bedroom feel like her.

Bridgerton Inspired Bedding
When I was picking out bedding for this Bridgerton-inspired bedroom, I aimed for a super clean look because I didn’t want anything clashing with the stunning wallpaper. I decided to mix and match the bedding, which is totally one of my favorite tricks! I chose a chic, luxurious-looking duvet cover with lovely blue embroidery details and paired it with soft green gingham patterned sheets.
The cute peekaboo effect of the gingham sheets under the crisp white bedding is my favorite! Plus, the green hues in the sheets wonderfully tie in with the greens in the rug—perfection!

Window Treatments
When it came to window treatments, I really paused over the curtains. I knew I wanted these stunning acrylic curtain rods, which are just absolutely fabulous—very modern Bridgerton! The acrylic paired with brass details adds such an elegant touch to the room, while keeping it current.
As for the curtains, I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to go with bright white curtains that feature baby blue scalloped edges, and I couldn’t be happier with the result! The scalloped detail adds a lovely feminine touch, and the bright white linen fabric contrasts beautifully with the oatmeal fabric of the headboard. Having a lot of upholstery can sometimes feel heavy, but this combination keeps the room feeling warm, light, bright, and airy.

Lighting for Small Room
I’m no stranger to the challenges of styling small bedrooms, one of which is finding space for bedside table lamps. Discovering small room hacks can make a huge difference, which is why I adore installing wall sconces in bedrooms like this one. The next question is: do you hardwire them or opt for plug-in wall sconces? Hardwiring is a more permanent and costly option, while plug-in wall sconces are easy to find and install yourself.
But then, what do you do with that pesky cord? Often, people try to conceal it, but for this Bridgerton-inspired bedroom, I decided to embrace it. I covered the cord with velvet ribbon and topped it with an adorable bow! This not only adds a charming touch to the room but also solves the problem of an unsightly cord in a stylish way.

Furniture for Bridgerton Inspired Room
When selecting furniture for this Bridgerton-inspired bedroom, I aimed to find pieces that were both classical and practical. For the bed frame, I chose a beautiful white wooden piece with an oatmeal linen headboard. The curves of the headboard feel very Bridgerton and add a lovely, elegant touch. The nightstands were an easy choice—simple, two-drawer stands with just enough detail to be interesting.
I also love layering rugs in a room to add extra texture and detail. The base rug brings a natural material into the mix, while the vintage layered rug on top adds more color and interest to the space.

No Detail Left Behind
To make sure her cute dog was not left out, she of course got her own dog bed makeover. We do not leave out dogs over here! I am talking about the comfiest bed from Serena and Lily in her own designated area. There is no mistaking it either, because this good girl got a banner and vision board to claim her spot in the bedroom.

This room turned out to be everything I hoped and dreamed for! Not going to lie, there was definitely a moment I was wondering why I didn’t have on a regal gown on while performing the quadrille, it definitely felt appropriate to do so. Even though I didn’t get to wear my gown, I was able to see Kelly’s reaction to the makeover and it was the best part of it all! She was so happy with it.
