Today I am excited to share with you our project, Final Bathroom Reveal, for week 8 on the One Room Challenge Spring 2020. The One Room challenge™ provides participants with a supportive, enthusiastic forum in which to share the process of transforming a room. The ORC is not a competition, but rather a celebration of creativity, inspiration, and original ideas. I will be sharing our bathroom remodel for this challenge. You can find all the rooms and designers participating in the ORC HERE. You can also follow along on Instagram HERE. That’s where I will be sharing live videos and pictures.
Let’s do a little recap of everything that’s happened the last several weeks shall we?

Before
This 1940’s bathroom had a long way to go on such a little budget. We finished this bathroom makeover under $1,000 and we couldn’t be more proud. It was far from easy but so worth it.
After
When Carter and I first moved into this house we discussed remodeling the bathroom. The shower and medicine cabinet were original from the 40s and the flooring and paint were very outdated. After some discussion, we decided we would put off the bathroom until we had saved enough money to hire out for a complete makeover.
After seeing Chris Loves Julia do a “Phase One Kitchen Reno” I knew I had to give it a whirl in my bathroom. And I am so happy I did. This phase one remodel was the perfect way to bring more charm into my home.

We added tongue and groove to the top half of the bathroom walls. Adding the wood paneling gives this space such a cozy feel. You can read more about that project HERE.
We also added trim around the window. This detail definitely helps the room look more finished.
We also kept the original shower tiles + shower faucet and decide to give it a paint job. With a little concrete paint and spray paint, we were in business. You can read more about this project HERE.
We tiled the floors ourselves. Tiling is a job ANYONE can do. I love how this tile is one pattern. This type of tile works great in such a small space making the room appear bigger. You can read more about that project HERE.
Last-minute Carter came up with the best idea to change the door into a sliding door. This has opened up our small bathroom. This has to be one of the smartest ideas Carter has had. We removed the old closet system outside the bathroom and created our own sliding door system. You can read more about that project HERE.
The last project we did was the bathroom vanity. We kept the old vanity but with a little bit of magic turned it into a “new,” gorgeous vanity. You can read more about that project HERE.
Details for Final Bathroom Reveal
We added a few decor items to the bathroom to keep it cozy. I love THIS little table from Target. It is a perfect place to set things down like either my phone or a cup of tea. I also have already used it as a vanity stool while I do my hair. It’s skinny enough that it stays out of the way.
Over the toilet, we added this gorgeous vintage-looking wall shelf from Pottery Barn. It is no longer available but HERE and HERE are some similar ones. I added a few hand towels and items that will be used.
You can find THIS arch mirror at Target. I love the wood detail on it.
The light fixture is from amazon which you can find HERE. This fixture is a temporary fixture until the permanent option arrives. I love this vintage look + it is very budget-friendly.
You can find fluffy pink towels HERE and wash clothes HERE. This art is one of my favorites which you can find HERE. I love THIS toilet paper holder.
My favorite last addition was the plants in the shower. There isn’t a lot of room in plants here and somehow I still found a way to add three! I love THESE and THESE macrame plant hangers from Amazon.
Thank you so much for following along on our bathroom journey and we hope you enjoy the Final Bathroom Reveal!
