Small Bathroom Remodel on a Budget

This is the only bathroom in our 700-square-foot bungalow. It has the original tile in the shower and was definitely an eyesore! With a little bit of paint and some hard work, we are able to turn this small bathroom into a charming 35 ft.² space.

Small Bathroom Before and After

We did not have a big budget for this refresh, so we had to be creative about making the space feel brighter and new. The before is very dingy, and in all honesty gave me horror, film vibes!

It’s crazy what a little bit of paint can do because look how absolutely adorable our small bathroom is now!

Bathroom on a Budget

We re-purposed many of the bones in the bathroom, like painting over the old tile and redoing the vanity with some cane and paint.

Painted Shower

We use ultra-pure white paint in the shower. I love this black shower caddy. Also, if you don’t have plants in the shower… you should!

Skinny Lap

We also painted the walls and added a skinny lap wall feature to the top part of the room. The paint is Creamy by Sherwin-Williams and the pinkish color on the bottom half of the bathroom is Sandstorm at 50% by Sherwin-Williams.

DIY Small Bathroom Remodel

Doing our own bathroom remodel wasn’t as difficult as we thought. The hardest part was not having a functioning bathroom for a couple of weeks. But since we live in Florida, we showered outside and it was no big deal.

Tile Floor

We did replace the tile floor with marble herringbone tiles. Since we weren’t replacing a lot of the other items in the bathroom, we really wanted the floors to feel old. We didn’t seal the floors and we over grouted the tile, so it looks more worn down.

Stylish Small Bathroom Ideas

In this bathroom, we really relied on decor to make the space feel extra cozy.

Bathroom Decor

The arched mirror is so cute and I love the extra detail with the wood. It really pulls together with the wood-framed art and rattan sconce light.

This waste basket is a fan favorite and it’s such a good price!

Bathroom Storage

For bathroom storage, we added a vintage-inspired gold shelf above the toilet. This is where we keep all of our skincare and things we use on a daily basis.

Towel Hooks

I also added towel hooks on the wall so we have a place to hang our towels.

Having a little drink table, this one is similar, in this bathroom is perfect for holding any extra items and a place to put your phone when using the space.

Overall, we’re so happy with this little bathroom, and ended up being the perfect budget-friendly makeover!
